Every day we help people to know their legal rights and have them upheld - this changes people’s lives.

Here is just some of the impact we made in 2019-20:

• We responded to 10,000 enquiries for legal advice and provided information and signposting where we couldn't help
• We prevented destitution for over 500 people with insecure immigration status
• We supported 820 people with housing problems, including preventing 441 people from being evicted and made homeless
• We secured a court judgement to protect vulnerable people migrating onto Universal Credit from losing income
• We represented 700 people to appeal unfair benefits decisions, winning 90% of them
• We secured immigration status for 177 people and were successful in over 75% of cases, much higher than the national average
• Sadly, we also had to turn away 2050 people as we did not have capacity to help them. With your help we can reach more people and together build a society where people’s rights are upheld, their needs met and they are enabled to thrive
