We are looking to a appoint a welfare benefits caseworker/solicitor to work on our Foundations for Integration project which has been designed to provide immigration and welfare benefits advice to migrant communities in Birmingham. This is a partnership project co-ordinated by Birmingham City Council and working alongside colleagues at ASIRT and Birmingham Refugee and Migrant Centre. We provide legal advice directly to clients and advice to partners and other front-line agencies working with migrant communities via a consultancy email and phone service. A wide variety of welfare benefits work is referred to us but inevitably there will be a focus on EU rights to reside, entitlements after the end of the Transition Period and transition of those granted refugee or other status to mainstream benefits. This is a fantastic opportunity to play an essential role in a friendly organisation that is trying to make a difference to the lives of those people in our communities that are most vulnerable. This role is initially funded until 30 April 2022 but there may be an opportunity for the role to continue subject to future funding secured. Whilst you will be based in Birmingham, the role will require flexibility to visit both offices for supervision and business/project needs as required.
