The Government advice remains that if you have symptoms of coronavirus infection (COVID-19), however mild, you should stay at home and not leave your house for 7 days from when your symptoms started.

If you are well but live with someone who has symptoms of coronavirus, then you must stay at home and not leave the house for 14 days. The 14-day period starts from the day when the first person in the house became ill.

Under the new emergency regulations, employees who are self-isolating in accordance with the Government's advice on coronavirus disease, or because you've been told to do so by a doctor or NHS 111, should be treated as on sick leave and so should be entitled to sick pay either Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) or contractual sick which includes an element of SSP for the first 28 weeks.

You cannot be furloughed whilst in receipt of SSP.

You may be entitled to benefits such as Universal Credit or Employment Support Allowance. Please telephone our benefits helpline for advice.
